Womanhood is not defined by Motherhood

By: Nichole Thompson

Womanhood is not defined by motherhood.

Is motherhood a piece of my womanhood?

Sure, it is for many, but it does not define me as a woman because I have borne children.

Creation defines me as a woman. XX.

My purpose and calling to be a woman were selected and hand-crafted by my creator.

Are my passions and each piece of my life attributed to my womanhood? Yes, but only Jesus defines me as a woman.

My identity as a woman is because of who He calls me to be.

It is a privilege to be a woman, to be able to be a mother, a wife, a sister, and a daughter, but they are all pieces of the puzzle that make up the woman I am today; none of them define me or my womanhood.

None of those titles declare my womanhood; only Jesus does.

Womanhood is not defined by motherhood; you can be a woman and fully complete without being a mother. That does not mean you are not motherly or have less womanhood because of this fact by choice or if it was decided for you for the countless reasons women are unable to bear children.

There is no less than by being a woman, and when women come together in the commonality of womanhood, the enemy shakes in his boots. Mobilizing women changes the trajectory of an outcome, I believe, for the better.

Women are, by nature, more discerning, generous, and kind, three attributes of womanhood that are needed now more than ever.

You were made to be exactly who you are for such a time as this.

All in love,

Nichole
